Reuven Winery

Carmel

Reuven Winery is a family boutique winery in Moshav Givat Ada, founded in 2005 by winemaker Eilat Ben-Moshe and his wife Ayala. It is named after Eilat's father, Reuven, a multi-generation winemaker who planted the family vineyards (about 45 dunams) in the Nadiv Valley. The wines are made from these estate vineyards using natural, hand and traditional low-yield methods; the reds age in French oak for 18 months to two years, plus about six more months in bottle before release. The wines are unfiltered and sold mainly at the winery itself. The estate is described as "a little Tuscany in Givat Ada": a rustic, European-style wine center overlooking the vineyards and orchards. A paid visit includes a talk about the wine and the estate, a tour of the barrel room among the vineyards, and a tasting of three wines, which winemaker Eilat accompanies with humorous storytelling. There is a shop on site selling wines at winery prices. The range includes Cabernet Sauvignon (listed first), plus Carignan, Petit Verdot and a dry white Muscat Alexandroni.
