Miles Winery is a small family-run boutique winery in the moshav of Kerem Ben Zimra, in the Upper Galilee. The winery itself was established in 2001, but the family has grown grapes far longer: their first vines were planted in 1984 at Ramat Dalton, and some plots trace back to 1977. Winemaker Eyal (Ayal) Miles grew up in an agricultural family on the moshav; the vineyards sit at about 870 m above sea level. The winery follows a terroir-driven, minimal-intervention approach — hand-harvested premium clusters, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in French and American oak. The range includes Miles Red, Lilium, Amalya (a flagship bottling), Shiraz Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Chenin Blanc; grape varieties grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Petit Sirah, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Whites, reds and a port have all been noted. Tastings are hosted personally by the family (Amalya, the winemaker's wife, often receives guests), and visitors consistently praise the intimate, welcoming atmosphere. In the visitor center you choose and sample 5 wines, accompanied by a platter of local Circassian cheese, the winery's own olive oil and bread. Wines you like can be bought by the bottle to drink on site. The winery is not kosher.
