Achziv Winery is a small family boutique winery founded in 2005 by Mark Guberman, a painter and winemaker, in the artists' workshops compound at the edge of Kibbutz Gesher HaZiv, near Nahariya in the Western Galilee. It makes only about 1,500-2,000 bottles a year: dry red wines (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz) plus a dessert wine called "Impression," from hand-harvested Galilee grapes aged in French oak. The winery fuses wine and art, and its logo is a Phoenician stamp nodding to the ancient Phoenician colony at Achziv. A visit combines a tasting of 3-4 wines, a short guided wine-tasting workshop on the history and world of wine, and a tour, in a rustic, pastoral atmosphere around a large wooden table.
