Bazelet HaGolan Winery

Bazelet HaGolan is a family-run boutique winery founded in 1998 by Yoav Levy, after years of home winemaking. It sits on a basalt slope of the Golan Heights at about 750 meters elevation, in Moshav Kidmat Tzvi. The name "Bazelet" means "basalt," a nod to the mineral-rich volcanic soil the winery credits for its grapes (its tagline: "the secret lies in the ground"). Yoav Levy is the founder, owner, and winemaker; the winery farms roughly 100 dunams and makes about 80,000 bottles a year. The flagship wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, alongside premium blends Magma (Cabernet/Merlot, aged in French oak) and the limited Hushnia. A separate "Vineyard 188" series is named in tribute to the IDF 188th Armored Brigade and a nearby Yom Kippur War battle site. The wines are kosher (kosher lemehadrin per the winery's own site). A visit is a guided experience at the visitor center: a short film about the winery's history and its natural winemaking, followed by a seated tasting of three wines on a patio overlooking the vineyards and, on a clear day, the Sea of Galilee and northern Israel. There's a wine shop on site and a food truck for snacks, and the winery also hosts private and group events in its barrel-cellar visitor center.
