Alber is a small family boutique winery in the agricultural area of Rosh Pina, founded in 2017. It sits in the "Bustan Ivri" garden between kibbutzim Machanayim and Ayelet HaShachar, east of Route 90, and is named after the founder's grandfather, Alber. The estate is run by a couple, Doron and Limor, with Doron Levia as winemaker. The whole cycle — growing, harvesting, winemaking and bottling — happens right there in the garden, and production is tiny, around 1,500 bottles a year according to wine catalogs. From its own grapes the winery makes reds — Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Shiraz — and a white Sauvignon Blanc. What makes the tasting special is that the wine is poured straight from the barrel.
