Morad Winery is a family boutique winery at the foot of the Carmel Mountains in Yokneam, founded in 1999 by the couple Yaakov and Eti Morad. It draws on family recipes with more than half a century of winemaking tradition: Yaakov Morad is a fourth-generation winemaker from an Iraqi-Jewish family, where, because of a ban on alcohol, kiddush wine was made from grapes grown in the family's own yard. In 2008 the Bodner family joined the management and helped expand production. Morad is one of only about ten Israeli wineries that make wine not from grapes: here fruits, vegetables and herbs (pomegranate, passion fruit, lychee, grapefruit, apple, date, apricot, coffee and more) are fermented into sweet kosher wines and liqueurs.
