Haifa City Museum is located at 11 Ben Gurion Boulevard, Haifa. The museum stands in the German Colony of Haifa — a historic axis running down Mount Carmel toward the sea, aligned directly toward the Baháʼí shrine. Ben Gurion Boulevard is the area's main pedestrian street, lined with historic stone buildings, restaurants, cafés and small shops. Access is convenient on foot from the German Colony and the lower city, and by buses serving the nearby arteries. Public parking nearby is limited and fills up fast on weekends and event evenings. The entrance opens directly onto the boulevard. The venue is also referred to as the City Museum of Haifa. The museum focuses on the history of Haifa and its residents and presents exhibitions throughout the year. The surroundings include cafés, restaurants and galleries of the German Colony, and the area is busy during the day and on weekend evenings. From the boulevard a direct view opens toward the Baháʼí Gardens and Haifa Bay.
