Galit is a nature reserve ranger who reports to Qasr al-Yahud every day, a pilgrimage site in the northern Dead Sea region. She is used to the routine of monitoring pilgrims from around the world as they immerse themselves in the Jordan River. The only woman on an all-male team, she spends her days with a radio crackling at her side.
During a lunch break, as she tries to steal a moment of peace and quiet, she encounters a frightened, soaking-wet boy who has fled the cold water. A mysterious bond begins to form between them. When it becomes clear that no one seems to be looking for him—and it is unclear whether he is real or a figment of her imagination—Galit’s maternal instincts begin to surface, driving her to take action.

Her choices, however, create growing tension with her family, who oppose her decisions and lifestyle.
Salma experiences physical and verbal abuse from her brother Walid, with the violence escalating into threats against her life.
Based on a true story, the film explores domestic violence experienced by women in Palestinian Arab society in Israel, told through Salma’s personal experience.
