Ahead of the Tishrei holidays, the Haifa Tourism Association is expanding its range of tours and inviting the public to experience the Selichot days from a Haifa perspective — special and connecting. Ahead of the month of Elul and the Tishrei holidays, the Haifa Tourism Association is launching, for the first time in the city, a series of Selichot tours offering a connection between tradition, faith, history, music and Haifa's unique landscapes. The tours are intended for both domestic tourists and residents of Haifa and the region, allowing them to experience the Selichot period in a different atmosphere — between the mountain and the sea, between synagogues and heritage stories, and between ancient tradition and a contemporary experience. As part of the series, several tours will take place around the city: Selichot from Stella Maris to Bat Galim – from Mount Carmel to the sea. A spiritual and captivating journey following the figure of the Prophet Elijah, combining nature, history, faith and breathtaking Haifa scenery. The tour will begin at the spectacular Stella Maris lookout, from where participants will descend to Elijah's Cave, where there will be a stop for reflection and soul-searching deep in the earth. The hikers will then continue on an experiential walk to Bat Galim beach, where the journey will end with a Tashlich ceremony by the sea. The connection between the mountain, the cave and the sea creates a unique experience for the Selichot days — a journey both physical and spiritual, allowing participants to pause the daily routine for a moment and enter the atmosphere of the New Year. Selichot in the Hadar neighborhood – to get to know, to listen and to forgive. A special tour in the month of Elul, also known as "the month of Selichot," offering an up-close introduction to the world of Haifa's Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community. During the tour, participants will walk through the neighborhood, visit various synagogues and meet people from the community, while learning about the customs of Elul and the traditions associated with the period. Alongside getting to know the neighborhood and the Jewish world, the tour invites participants to look inward — to practice a "good eye" toward ourselves and others, to reflect on what is similar and different between us, and to consider the meaning of forgiveness just before the start of a new year. "Avinu Malkeinu on the Carmel" – a Jewish musical journey playing in the Carmel Center. A unique Jewish musical journey in the Carmel Center, accompanied by live and moving trumpet sounds. During the tour, participants will visit the neighborhood's old synagogues, hear the heritage stories of the local communities, and learn about the Jewish history of the Carmel Center. The trumpet sounds accompanying the journey will add a musical and emotional dimension to the tour, connecting stories of the past, the Carmel landscapes and the atmosphere of the Elul and Selichot days. The Selichot tour series joins the wide range of tours and experiences offered by the Haifa Tourism Association, aiming to continue positioning the city as a diverse tourist destination that offers unique content year-round for different audiences, from tourists to city residents.
