He even has the official documents to back it up. Despite their initial suspicion, the villagers welcome him into their community, and none of them imagines what secret he is hiding. But as the soldier becomes an increasingly significant part of the village, the rope of truth tightens around his neck. In his new film, Austrian director Markus Schleinzer explores questions of identity and acceptance, presenting a hypnotic and stylized piece of cinema that earned him praise at the Berlin Film Festival, where Sandra Hüller ("Anatomy of a Fall") won the Best Actress award, once again proving she is one of the finest actresses of our generation. 94 minutes, German, Hebrew and English subtitles.
