A young baalat teshuva (a woman newly become religious), a few weeks after giving birth to her first child, comes to a rebbetzin and claims that her husband has been replaced. From the outside he looks the same, but he's actually a double. She simply knows it. She turns to the rebbetzin because she's afraid that if she goes to the police, she'll be hospitalized. The rebbetzin believes she should indeed be hospitalized — it fits her age, she's just given birth for the first time, and this is most likely an outbreak of mental illness. The rabbi, however, thinks this is a case of newly religious people who took one midrash a bit too literally, and that it will resolve itself. And from there everything gets tangled. "My One and Only" is a multi-character mystery drama about the changes we go through within our relationships, about faith in love and falling in love, and about everything we go through in between. The film screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival. 104 minutes, Hebrew, Hebrew subtitles.
