Film and Talk: In 1973, the Jews of the village of Gondrotch-Mariam in Ethiopia prepare for a dangerous trek through Sudan to the Land of Israel. Yitzhak (58), an independent farmer and owner of a thriving farm, refuses to leave his land and the crops built through years of hard labor, to break away from the land where he grew up and set out on a journey into the unknown. His stance leads to a sharp conflict with his wife Sarah (45), who is determined to set out on the road with their three children. But the family's entanglement in unexpected events forces Yitzhak to send Sarah and the children on the journey to Sudan, on the way to Israel. Yitzhak stays behind, close to his land and his son Adisai, who was forcibly conscripted into the Ethiopian army. Thus begins the great family saga that becomes part of the heroic story of the Aliyah of Ethiopian Jews to Israel. 87 minutes, Amharic, Hebrew and Arabic, subtitles in Hebrew and English.
