# Exhibition: Touching Distance > Haifa Events **Category:** exhibition ## Description "Touch Distance" Haifa artists in dialogue with the Bauhaus legacy Curator: Liat Malcho Opening: Monday, 9/11 at 18:30 The exhibition "Touch Distance" brings Haifa artists together for a contemporary dialogue with Bauhaus ideas — the movement founded in Germany in 1919, which sought to connect art, craft, design and technology, and to reexamine the relationship between creation and everyday life. It offered not just a visual language, but a way of thinking: an observation of form, material and function. Through painting, printmaking, textile, typography, furniture and objects, the exhibition presents a range of visual and material languages dealing with geometry, color, transparency, structure and composition. Some of the works emerge from the Haifa space, turning the local architecture into a starting point for creation. Others focus on the object, the image or the material itself, offering different perspectives on the meeting between abstraction and image, between handcraft and design, and between design tradition and new interpretation. The Bauhaus serves here as a starting point, not a model to imitate. The distance of time and place does not erase the contact with its legacy, but allows it to be reexamined, turning it into an invitation to keep creating, testing and interpreting.
