When Sholem Aleichem Met Goldfaden
When Sholem Aleichem Met Goldfaden | "Rozinkes mit Mandlen" ("Raisins with Almonds"). A theatrical-musical event bringing to the stage the best of Yiddish and Jewish literature: the unforgettable classics of Sholem Aleichem, excerpts from "Fiddler on the Roof," and the works of the father of Jewish theatre Avraham Goldfaden, author of "Two Kuni-Lemels," "The Witch" and "Raisins and Almonds." This is a moving and humor-filled journey into a world entirely of longing, laughter and song — to the characters and sounds that shaped our culture. On stage, stories and sketches intertwine with beloved songs, and the audience is invited to join in singing, laughter and emotion. An evening that is a complete celebration of creation. Yiddish, music, theatre — and a taste of home. Cast: "Tzemed Reim" duo, Shaul Meizlish, Hilit Deutsch-Shani, Yonatan Rozen, Hen Brach. Writing, editing and direction: Yonatan Rozen. Keyboards: Misha Blekhrovich.
