'We Thought It Would Be Romantic'
"We Thought It Would Be Romantic" — an experiential show with cultural giants Yoav Ginai and Ohad Hitman, hosting Dafna Dekel. Lyricist, radio and TV personality Yoav Ginai and musician, composer and singer Ohad Hitman together on one stage in a fascinating, humor-filled evening, hosting singer and actress Dafna Dekel. In the new show "We Thought It Would Be Romantic," Yoav Ginai and Ohad Hitman meet on one stage and invite the audience on a moving journey behind the scenes of the Israeli creative world: how words and melody weave together to create the wonder called a song. Yoav Ginai, who is behind dozens of songs that have become the soundtrack of Israeli music, reveals fascinating details about winning the Eurovision with "Diva." Ohad Hitman, a member of the musical Hitman family, tells of the world of musicals and of "Billy Schwartz" — the award-winning musical he wrote and composed. Together with Dafna Dekel, they perform songs they grew up on and that influenced their path — from songs by Uzi Hitman, Ohad's uncle, to works by Ehud Manor. The evening combines original songs, beloved classics and honest conversations about inspiration, creation and artistic friendship. Photo credit: Lior Kasson and Amit Tzach.
