Shmulikipod | A Rock Opera for Children
One of the creators of Mayumana, Ilon Nofar, presents: Shmulikipod and Friends The Israeli children's classic "Shmulikipod" is brought to life by Mayumana artist Ilon Nofar, combining bouncy music and rhythms with the professionalism and precision of actors, dancers, musicians, and acrobats. Nofar conducts all these elements with the talent that earned her worldwide recognition as one of the founders of the Mayumana troupe. As in the beloved book by T. Carmi and Shoshana Heyman (known as Kush), the stage brings to life the surprising and magical encounter between the boy Gadi and the hedgehog that has enchanted generations of children. Except that in this case, in the Israeli Children's Theatre production, this encounter includes singing, stunts, rhythmic dances, and music that won't let the audience stay seated. The duet between Shmulikipod and Gadi, both of whom felt a little lonely before finding each other, is reinforced by additional characters from the child's inner world, adding an original and unique color to this stage production. Executive Producer: Karin Stav Writing and Director: Udi Gutshalk Movement, Music and Compositions: Ilon Nofar Duration: One hour and 20 minutes, including intermission
